Tween / Teen Musical Theatre Class (Grades 6 - 12)

In this fun, non-competitive class, students are introduced to the most important element of Musical Theater: the Voice! By using group numbers and solos, students will learn about vocal technique, proper breathing, diction, projection, the basics of reading music and best of all, the joy of singing! In this class, we explore characters and relationships on a deeper level. Students discover how action and behavior shape characterization. They continue to track their character's journey through scenes and monologues; articulating the essential elements of building a character, playing objectives, fighting through obstacles and trying to resolve the conflict in the scene. The instructors cater to the strength of each student as they focus on individualized advanced work.The session culminates in a final open class. The camp starts off with games and exercises reviewing the basics of improvisation, then the students dive into developing performance pieces for a final showcase! Ready, Set, ACT! (Grades K - 2)

The first step to understanding what acting is all about! In this fun and supportive class, children use theatre games, storytelling and role-playing to stretch their imaginations and discover the endless creativity in themselves. Each semester ends in a final informal performance open to family and friends.

Broadway Juniors (Grades K - 2)

Using familiar songs and scenes from classic Broadway shows and films such as The Music Man, The Wizard of Oz and Suessical, students will learn the basics of musical theater performance. Vocal technique, beginning acting skills and basic choreography will be developed as students "put it all together" in this fun-filled class. The last session includes a final informal performance.

Storytime Theater (Grades 1-2)

The first step to understanding what acting is all about! In this fun and supportive virtual class, children use theatre games, storytelling and role-playing to stretch their imaginations and discover the endless creativity in themselves. Each semester ends in a final informal zoom performance open to family and friends.

Kids learn the fundamentals of acting in a fun, supportive and creative atmosphere. Through theatre games and improvisation, students concentrate on the basics of acting: the who, where, why and how. Students will then apply these concepts to basic scene work. The last session includes an open class for family and friends.

Improv for Kids (Grades 3 - 5)

Give your imagination a blast of spontaneity! Improvisation works to increase a child's observation and concentration skills while freeing their imaginations! Students will learn the basic rules of improvisation and then put them to use playing performance games. A fun, fast paced, funny class!basic choreography will be developed as students "put it all together" in this fun-filled class. The last session includes a final informal performance.

Musical Theater for Kids (Grades 3 - 5)

*NEW* Drama Club Kids

Drama Club (everyone’s favorite club!) is perfect way to socialize, build community, and create! Drama Club is a virtual after-school extra-curricular activity where club members will spend the semester in “play practice” getting ready to put on a show. Club members will enjoy club activities, theater games, process-oriented rehearsals, and performance of a scripted play. Drama Club members will learn the basics of stage work, self discipline, importance of hard work, creativity, listening and observation skills, and self confidence. AND they will have a social experience with club members who share their same performance passion. Drama Club is a great addition for Pandemic Pods and Home-School groups. It is produced by 3-time Excellence in Education Tony Honoree, Beth Baur. Ms. Baur is a certified K-12 Public School Theater Teacher. Drama Club is available and can be modified for individual groups.
