Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans

The Rutgers University Tuition Payment Plan (RUTPP) allows you to pay your term bill in monthly payments.

We have partnered with Nelnet Campus Commerce to allow you to pay your tuition and fees over time in an interest-free plan that automatically deducts the amount from your bank account via e-check payment, credit card, or debit card.

All card payments incur a 2.45 percent service fee. There is a $50 fee to enroll in RUTPP semester plans, assessed per semester, and a $60 fee to enroll in annual plans. This fee is nonrefundable and due at the time of enrollment.

Enrolling early affords you more payments to pay your plan balance. As you approach the start of the term, some payment options might not be available.

Please note that some payment plans are not yet open for enrollment. Plan dates are made available ahead of time to support adequate financial planning.

I am anticipating receiving financial assistance. How much should my plan be?

Simply deduct the amount of aid or assistance that you expect to receive from the term bill amount and enroll in a plan that accommodates the remaining balance. You can adjust the term bill amount at any time during the plan. *Please note that you will be responsible for the difference if the aid or assistance is less than anticipated.

How can I make a payment(s) on a prior term bill?

Payment plans for prior terms are not available. Please visit the Delinquent Accounts page for more information or submit an inquiry to have a representative contact you to make arrangements.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, however credit card payments incur a 2.45 percent processing fee. This fee is nonrefundable and will appear as a separate transaction on your credit card statement.

Why has my payment not posted to my account?

After you have enrolled in RUTPP, please allow three business days for the payment to post to your student account.

I overpaid on my account. How do I get a refund, and can it be credited to the next semester?
