Applying to CSI

Freshmen and Transfers can apply quickly and easily online using the City University of New York (CUNY) Application. CSI has rolling admissions; however, applications should be filed early. Priority deadline for the Spring semester is September 15th. Priority deadline for the Fall semester is February 1.

The CUNY Application

Available applications: Spring 2025 and Fall 2025

The CUNY Application​ allows you to apply to multiple CUNY colleges with one application.

• Apply to 6 colleges as a freshman with one application fee
• Apply to 4 colleges as a transfer with one application fee
• Apply to the Macaulay Honors College (Fall only)
• Currently enrolled CUNY students should apply with the CUNY application

First Time Applicants

First time applicants are students who have not previously attended any college, university, and/or proprietary school within or outside the United States since graduating from high school or secondary school.

Applicants are required to submit the following to be considered for admission to the College of Staten Island:

• Completed freshman application
• $65 application fee
• Official high school transcript
• Copy of high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and scores
• Please note that submission of SAT/ACT exams are optional. CUNY revised its testing policy to test optional effective Fall 2023 through Spring 2025. First-year applicants can choose whether to submit SAT or ACT exam scores as part of their application. Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants are students who have attended any college, university, and/or proprietary school since graduating from high school or secondary school. This applies whether or not the applicant is seeking transfer credit and/or changing program of study.

Applicants are required to submit the following to be considered for admission to the College of Staten Island:

• Completed transfer application
• $70 application fee
• Official college transcript(s)
• Official high school transcript
• Copy of high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and scores

Returning Students - Undergraduate

Students who previously attended CSI as a matriculated student can apply for readmission by visiting the Returning Students webpage.

Graduate School Applicants

Students Educated Outside the United States

You are considered a student educated outside the U.S. if you have received part or all of your secondary and/or post secondary education in a country other than the United States.
